Radio Call is HoloMemory sample No. 41 in The Last Caretaker.
The person speaks into the radio because hearing silence is worse than continuing to try. A radio gives hope a process: press, call, wait, and listen. The cruel part is that waiting feels like an action, too. For a little while, people can make themselves believe that an answer is only delayed for some reason, instead of gone forever.
