Earthfire
Earthfire is HoloMemory sample No. 54 in The Last Caretaker.
They're cooking over heat that should never have been there. The planet is leaking methane, the machine is failing to contain it, and so the ground gives off the wrong kind of warmth. Still, they decide to make a meal of it. This scene represents human survival at its smallest and strangest, when you can turn an aspect of global disaster into dinner. Hunger cannot wait for a better world.
One adult subject operates a small heat source. One child subject holds a food container over the heat. Heat appears to be exhaust from a vent or similar ground-linked system.
