Warm Shaft is HoloMemory sample No. 53 in The Last Caretaker.
This vent wasn't built for this purpose. It served as a means to move heat, gas, pressure, and waste. Yet, people found warmth there, and so they gathered close to it. The human body doesn't care how it survives, only that it does. Toxic methane infrastructure became a shelter, not because its purpose changed, but because humans had nowhere kinder left to go.
