Dead Signal is HoloMemory sample No. 46 in The Last Caretaker.
The screen is dead, but the person keeps a hand there anyway. Humans do this when a connection is gone but their muscle memory still remembers where it used to be. Touch becomes the last message. Not sent, not received, but held in place because letting go makes the silence total and complete.
